Hey, everyone! How is your summer going? Things have been so different this year, but at the same time, I am ready to get back into the swing of our school year. This year, my oldest and youngest daughter will be homeschooling….and my middle daughter will be attending a small private school near us. I am going to be teaching 1st and 2nd grade at that school, too! Lots of changes for us.
My husband’s new job is based out of our home office and he travels in our area as needed, so he will be overseeing the girls during the day. I will be homeschooling around my job outside of school hours (and on Friday since my job is just 4 days per week). Anyway, it is definitely going to be a change and require some finagling of our schedules. Because my oldest daughter is a junior and will be taking mostly online or college courses, I won’t have to do much direct teaching with her. My youngest daughter is going into 7th, so I have been working hard to get her homeschool schedule and planning done!
Because I’ve been trying to downsize our paper piles, I am utilizing a DIY digital homeschool planner this year. I’ve basically put together a homeschool binder utilizing Google drive (docs, sheets, and slides). If you’d like to see my thoughts on planning and then a basic tutorial on setting up a digital homeschool planner, I made a video to make it easier.
You can watch this video over on YouTube if you can’t see it in this post.
Let me know if you have any questions about homeschool planning or how to utilize Google drive to make your own planner!
