This year I’ve been teaching first grade at a small private school (in addition to two of my daughters homeschooling…it’s been pretty crazy honestly)! In our curriculum, we are currently working on addition and subtraction, but I have also added some skip counting.
There are two main ways I like to teach skip counting. First, I like to use songs. The song tunes I use are originally from Classical Conversations memory work, but they really helped my girls memorize their skip counting charts.
Check out the skip counting song playlist here.
Second, I like to have students practice writing the skip counting charts over and over until they have them down. That’s where these free printable skip counting worksheets come in!
Simply print these charts and place them in a sheet protector (or laminate them). Let your child use a dry erase pen and practice over and over! The sheets include some dot-to-dot animals, too.
