This is such an inexpensive activity and one of our go-to activities when we are stuck inside in the winter with little ones. This would be especially fun with colorful cups like these! I recommend this activity for ages 3 and up (because sometimes younger ones just like to squeeze the cups…and then they break or get cracks which I fear could hurt them).
Anyway, we used to do this only inside a fenced area because our puppy and toddler niece would knock everything over…so that’s why the pictures are the way they are!

Stack It Up Cups – Easy Activity Using Common Household Items
Supplies:
Steps:
Step 1
On a flat, large area, give your kids the cups. Let them build!
Step 2
You may need to show them how to stack the cups if they don’t figure it out at first.
Step 3
Challenge them to make a variety of structures. Can you make a wall? Can you make a tower? How tall can you make the tower? Can you turn them over and build with them a different way?

This is a great fine motor activity. It can also be great for problem-solving if you give them challenges to try!
